The Garmin GPSMAP 521 Chartplotter GPS unit comes packaged in a waterproof shell, with a high-sensitivity internal GPS receiver incorporated in lightening fast digital design that greatly facilitates the mariners in keeping track of their relative sea position. It is one of the compact Chartplotters available in the market that features latest technological aspects like compatibility with BlueChart® g2 Vision cards.

The Garmin GPSMAP 521 chartplotter is also capable of receiving U.S. graphical weather data, but you’ll need the additional GXM 51 satellite receiver/antenna for this purpose. Adding additional maps is never a problem even without connecting this chartplotter to a computer, thanks to its expandable SD memory card slot.

 

As far as its physical dimensions are concerned, the Garmin GPSMAP 521 chartplotter GPS unit comes in dimensions of 5.9" (length) x 6.4" (Width) x 2.9" (depth). It also has a backlit keypad that helps a great deal in operating under dim light.
